Roasted Carrot “Fries” with Herbed Tahini Dip (Simple, Gut-Friendly Appetizer)

If you love a crunchy, savory snack but want something lighter than traditional fries or creamy dips, these Roasted Carrot “Fries” with Herbed Tahini Dip are about to become your new favorite appetizer.

They’re naturally sweet, lightly smoky, perfectly tender, and dipped in a silky, herb-packed tahini sauce that tastes indulgent but is full of nutrients your gut and hormones love.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the Carrot Fries:

  • 6 large carrots, cut into fry-sized sticks

  • 1 tbsp avocado oil

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • Sea salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Herbed Tahini Dip:

  • ¼ cup tahini

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp water (more if needed to thin)

  • 1 tsp dried dill or parsley

  • Sea salt, to taste

Instructions

Roast the carrots:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Toss carrot sticks with avocado oil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Roast 25 minutes, flipping halfway, until tender with caramelized edges.

Make the dip:

  • Whisk tahini, lemon juice, water, herbs, and salt until creamy.
  • Add an extra splash of water if you prefer a thinner dip.

Serve:

  • Arrange warm carrot fries on a platter and serve with the herbed tahini dip.
  • These can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature — perfect for gatherings.

Tips & Variations

  1. Add ½ tsp garlic powder or cumin for extra flavor.

  2. Swap the tahini dip for guacamole if serving kids.

  3. Turn this into a bowl by serving carrot fries over quinoa with a drizzle of tahini sauce.
